Terms of Service

1. What the service is

The New Neighbor is a relocation guidance platform for EU citizens moving between EU member states. It provides personalised checklists, an AI assistant, a community area, and access to a network of verified relocation experts. The content is informational in nature and does not constitute legal, financial, medical, or professional advice.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

You can delete your account at any time under Profile → Delete my account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload malware or any code intended to disrupt the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems
• Use the service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Community content

Content you post in the community area (posts, comments, tips) remains yours. By posting, you grant The New Neighbor a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app. If you delete your account, your posts remain visible but are anonymised — your name, avatar, and origin country are replaced with "Former neighbor".

You can report content that violates these terms using the report function available on every post. You can block other users from your profile or from their posts.

5. Expert network

Verified experts on the platform are independent individuals, not employees or agents of The New Neighbor. Their advice reflects their personal experience and opinion. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any advice given through the expert network.

6. Premium subscriptions

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation options are described at thenewneighbor.app/premium. Payments are processed by Stripe. On iOS, Premium subscriptions will be available via In-App Purchase in a future update.

7. AI assistant

The NewNeighbor AI is powered by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). Responses are generated automatically and may contain errors or outdated information. Always verify time-sensitive information — such as registration deadlines or required documents — with the relevant authority.

8. Intellectual property

The New Neighbor, its logo, and all content we create (checklists, guides, interface design) are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without permission.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We will notify you of significant changes where possible.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, The New Neighbor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
